Berkshire: Five new electric car charge points installed around Wokingham borough

Going green will be easier after five electric car charging points are installed around the borough.

The charge points will be placed at new park and rides at Winnersh and Mereoak, a site in Emmbrook, Shute End short stay car park and Wokingham railway station car park.

Wokingham Borough Council, in partnership with Nissan, is due to put in the charging points during this year thanks to a £265,000 grant from the Department for Transport (DfT) and additional funding from the car firm.

The rapid car charging points are capable of giving electric vehicles an 80 per cent charge in less than 30 minutes.
