ELECTRIC vehicle charging bays will be ready to power driving throughout Inverclyde in a little more than six months.
A total of five eco-friendly ‘refuelling’ points — which will occupy existing car park space — are to be made available.
The low emissions move comes after Inverclyde Council was offered a £78,000 grant to join a nationwide network of charge units.
A report on the innovation to the local authority’s environment and regeneration committee has been welcomed by elected members.
Councillor Jim MacLeod, depute leader of the district’s SNP group, said: “I am very enthused by this.”
