“Peter’s trip as it happens”
Pictures and brief journey log attached.
Total Trip Statistics: 315 miles, total cost = 0 (okay, a bit for tyres ..)
Hamilton 0700 – not charged since leaving the dealer the day before, just a normal car park.
Killington 0730 – took a while to work out how to operate the charger and then had an amusing “oh no, the car is broken” moment as I had turned it on while charging – disconnect the charger and it appears to be on but is not in “Ready to Drive” mode. You can take off the handbrake … and roll backwards with no drive, no power steering and no brakes … panic stabbing of the power button soon got me going 🙂 » Read the rest of this entry «
August 4th, 2014 § Comments Off on Thinking of buying yet another nissan LEAF Acenta….call me crazy but it’s cheaper than ICE to join my household! § permalink
Wife has swiftly commandeered my Nissan Leaf when she received a 100% discounted parking person near her work, – because of Pure Electric Car – ker-Ching! We’re saving the environment and improving ge quality of air after all – so it’s all fair.
And so, I’m contemplating purchase (this time, outright) or yet another Nissan Leaf Acenta – likely used under a year old and under 10k mileage – white. Do hit me up @evmeerkat if you have one ready.
Under 15k is not difficult to find any longer and “batteries included”. I’m personally after £12k mark, so if pure a dealer looking to shift stock, I’m your customer! Good Deposit and rest on finance right away! 😉
Doing all the maths, again, – as usual – and it transpires – once again – paying a loan out for 4-5 years for yet another Leaf electric car will give me a “FREE COMMUTE” vehicle afterwards while battery is expected to be still within warranty by the end of it. I think I may as well run that car to the ground – if it’s even possible. Nissan leaf Battery replacement figures revealed
Recently – £4500 figure for a brand new spanking battery replacement. So, I should not be worried, in fact, figure will diminish even further as better volume economies of scale kick in!
So what am I waiting for…..
– in looking, I’m looking!

January 27th, 2013 § Comments Off on Nissan Leaf #electricCar #ev only 20k or £199/month. See link to dealer site on evmeerkat.com § permalink
As per casual on-going cheapest ev ownership options…
If you drive a lot to/in/around the city like London, or have (you can for for free home charging installation in London) electric charging at work and or at home, get a LEAF for odd £199/month.
Comparison savings – driving some 12,000/miles a year on some 35mpg averaging vehicle will set one back to some 170/month in fuel costs alone ( 35mpg on 135p/L averaging 1000 a month)
Like I said, have a look here for the offer.

Citroen “recommended fix” – popping to dealer for the software upgrade – to prevent car going into LIMP NODE (I take – much like vectra back in those days)
